The G6-52 is a 155mm 6x6 wheeled self propelled gun-howitzer developed by South Africa. It entered service with the South African National Defence force in 2003. It is a development of the G6-Rhino, with a new 52 calibre gun replacing the original 45 calibre gun.
The G6-52 fires NATO compatible ammunition to a range of 30km using standard projectile, and 39kk with rocket assisted. It can carry 48 rounds in the turret.
The gun operates a semi-automatic loading system which can fire 8 rounds per minute and has the capability for multiple round simultaneous impact firing. It can fire its first round within 60 secs of deployment, with an out of action time of 30 secs, providing a shoot and scoot capability.
The detachment of five consists of a commander, gunner, two loaders and a driver.
